Treatment: Disulfiram Pellets



In short, they make you sick if you drink.

  • Disulfiram is the active ingredient in Antabuse which has been used for many decades to treat alcohol abuse. Pellets of disulfiram are now available rather than the once-a-day dosing required for Antabuse.
  • A 500 mg disulfiram pellet is replaced every 2 months. An 800mg pellet is replaced every 3 months.
  • Disulfiram oil injections now are available as well.
